buy – the BEAUTIFUL SCARS album – now

Amber Kenny’s debut album ‘Beautiful Scars’ is a collection of intimate songs that share the stories of Amber’s own scars, which lie on the inside and out.

Full of authenticity and raw emotion each song is interwoven with the next. Balanced through her own lens of life, ‘Beautiful Scars’ is how Amber makes sense of the world, the people in it and the situations that have forever changed her.

‘Beautiful Scars’ was recorded over 9 days of magical moments on a rural farm in the Southern Highlands. A stunning landscape in which they could hide away from all outside distractions and immerse themselves into the creativity of making music with deep roots in soul, folk and alt-country.

Produced by Syd Green, Ben Fink and Amber, the album features an impressive line up including collaborator/co-writer Lyn Bowtell and renowned fiddle player, Clare O’Meara, Lloyd Swanton, Jo Caseley, Bek Jensen and Ben Malone

‘It’s really our album to celebrate with each song just as much theirs as it is mine. They all gave so much of themselves and I thank them for being so generous and brilliant” says Amber Kenny. “Each song is like a dance between light and dark. The light of beautiful sun flowers and feeling the sun on their backs versus the darker depths of the acceptance of scars you hold and wear.”

Coming from a place of both necessity and joy, all the sounds heard throughout this record have been written and played from a rich storytelling heart, allowing the songs to speak for themselves.

Amber Kenny joins with her band The Wildflowers to create an unforgettable live experience. Rich with soul and sincerity, their songs and performances linger long after the final note. Blending Americana, folk and subtle blues undertones, they shape a warm, expansive sonic landscape around Amber's distinctive, emotive voice.

Recorded in a farmhouse in the Southern Highlands, Amber’s debut album – ‘Beautiful Scars’ captures the organic chemistry and raw honesty that defines Amber’s songwriting and The Wildflowers sound. Touring this album extensively across NSW, Amber Kenny and The Wildflowers have enjoyed sold out shows in her hometowns of Robertson and Sydney.
